Heyward Signs Two-Year Contract With Braves to Avoid Arbitration

Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Outfielder Jason Heyward signed a two-year contract with the Atlanta Braves, avoiding salary arbitration.

The deal is worth $13.3 million, according to the Associated Press. The Braves declined to disclose financial information in a news release announcing the agreement.

Heyward, 24, batted .254 with 14 home runs and 38 runs batted in during 104 games last season as the Braves went 96-66 to win the National League East. He has a .259 career batting average with 73 homers and 234 RBI over four seasons with the team.

Right-handed pitcher Craig Kimbrel and first baseman Freddie Freeman are the two remaining players on Atlanta’s 40-man roster who are still in the arbitration process for the Major League Baseball season.
