Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, an Academy-Award winner for his starring role in “Capote,” was found dead today in New York City, the Wall Street Journal reported. He was 46.

The Journal said the New York Police Department is investigating the death. The newspaper said he was found dead in his West Village apartment.
