Globeleq Gets $109 Million Debt for Costa Rica Wind-Energy Plant

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy SA, a developer of renewable-energy projects in Central America, will receive $109 million in loans from three international lenders for its Costa Rica wind-energy project.

The Netherlands Development Finance Company, known as the FMO, will provide $28 million and the Export-Import Bank of the United States will furnish $61.1 million for the Orosi wind project, according to a statement today. Banco Internacional de Costa Rica SA will provide $20 million.

The project in the northwestern province of Guanacaste will include 25 2-megawatt wind turbines, the FMO said in the statement.
