Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The London Metal Exchange, owned by Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd., hired a new chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
The exchange named Stuart Sloan as the COO and head of strategy, the LME said in a statement e-mailed today. Sloan, formerly head of strategic development at NYSE Euronext, has 20 years of experience in markets and infrastructure.
Catherine Lester, previously PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s director in assurance, joined as the CFO, the bourse also said. They both report to Garry Jones, the LME chief executive officer, while Lester will also report to Paul Kennedy, the group CFO at Hong Kong Exchanges.
Hong Kong Exchanges bought the LME for $2.2 billion in 2012. Jones became the LME CEO in September.
