Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) -- The University of Oregon beat the University of Texas 30-7 in college football’s Alamo Bowl, sending coach Mack Brown to a loss in the final game of his 16-year tenure with the Longhorns.
Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariotta had 386 yards of offense and the Ducks (11-2) returned two interceptions for touchdowns last night in San Antonio.
Brown, 62, had a 158-48 record at Texas, winning a national championship after the 2005 season and recording nine straight seasons of at least 10 wins from 2001-09. The Longhorns finished 8-5 this season.
