U.S. Midfielder Clint Dempsey Rejoins Fulham of Premier League

Dec. 25 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. national soccer team midfielder Clint Dempsey will return to English Premier League team Fulham on a two-month loan from the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer, Fulham said on its website.

Dempsey, 30, scored 60 goals in 225 appearances during a 5 1/2-year stint with Fulham starting in 2007. He signed with Tottenham Hotspur in August 2012.

“It feels good to be back, I mean this has always kind of felt like my home in Europe,” Dempsey said in a video clip on the team’s website. “I just wanted to get back to playing at the highest level. Going into a World Cup year, you want to get back to that top form.”

London-based Fulham is next-to-last among the 20 teams in the Premier League standings, with 13 points from 17 matches.
