Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller will miss the rest of the National Football League season after tearing a knee ligament early into a 37-13 win yesterday at the Houston Texans, according to NFL.com.

Tests showed that Miller, who suffered the injury to his right knee during the first quarter of the game, tore the anterior cruciate ligament, NFL.com said.

Miller, 24, missed the first six games of the season after violating the league’s drug policy. He was named an All-Pro in each of the previous two campaigns. He had 34 total tackles and five sacks this season as the Broncos (12-3) clinched the American Football Conference West Division title.

Denver finishes its regular season Dec. 29 at the Oakland Raiders.
