Gasoline in Los Angeles strengthened after a power interruption at a Southern California refinery affected production.
California-blend gasoline, or Carbob, in Los Angeles strengthened by 4 cents a gallon to a discount of 1.5 cents less than futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 3:57 p.m., according to data compiled by Bloomberg. State-blend diesel strengthened by 1 cent a gallon to a discount of 2.75 cents less than ultra low sulfur diesel futures on the Nymex.
Exxon Mobil Corp.’s 150,000-barrel-a-day refinery in Torrance had a minimal impact to production after a power failure at 6:40 a.m., Gesuina Paras, a Torrance-based spokeswoman for the company, said by e-mail. The plant is in the process of normalizing operations after power was returned.
Carbob in San Francisco strengthened by 2 cents a gallon to a discount of 12.5 cents. Conventional, 84-octane gasoline in Portland, Oregon, was unchanged at 18 cents a gallon less than futures.
California-blend diesel in San Francisco strengthened by 0.5 cent to 7.5 cents below to futures. Low-sulfur diesel in Portland was unchanged at a discount of 13.5 cents.
