Hollywood Actor Paul Walker Killed in Car Crash, AP Says

Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Paul Walker, the U.S. actor who appeared in the “Fast & Furious” action movie series, has been killed in a car crash near Los Angeles, the Associated Press said, citing his publicist Ame Van Iden and Universal Pictures.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they found a red Porsche in flames when they responded to a report of a collision in Valencia, the news agency said. Walker, 40, and another person in the car were pronounced dead at the scene, it said.

Walker appeared in all but one of the six “Fast & Furious” series of films, which started in 2001.

“All of us at Universal are heartbroken,” AP cited Universal Pictures as saying in a statement. “Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the ’Fast and Furious’ films, and to countless fans.”
