Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Treasury Department announced Michael Hirson, a former senior associate in emerging markets and international affairs at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will be its attache in Beijing.
Marisa Lago, assistant secretary for international markets and development, made the announcement in an e-mailed statement today.
Before the New York Fed, Hirson worked as a Treasury desk officer for China, Mongolia, Egypt, Israel and the West Bank/Gaza and was the department’s attache in Kabul. Most recently he was deputy director of the Middle East and North Africa office.
