Grundfos Buys Water-Treatment Company Isia as Pump Maker Expands

Grundfos Holding A/S, the largest maker of circulator pumps, purchased Isia, which uses chlorine dioxide as an oxidant and biofouling controller to disinfect water for industries, utilities and drinking supplies.

Isia is a Venice, Italy-based firm specializing in water-treatment applications featuring industrial plant-process controls and automation, Grundfos and Isia said today in a joint statement. No terms of the acquisition were given.

Closely held Grundfos, based in Bjerringbro, Denmark, makes more than 16 million pump units a year for heating and air-conditioning as well as centrifugal pumps for industry, water supply and sewage companies, according to its website.
