Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Barclays Plc said Daniel Janes, its Australian co-head of investment banking, resigned and Tim Lindley has taken over as head of the unit.
Lindley, 40, jointly led the investment banking business in Australia with Janes, Clare Williams, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman for the bank, said without giving a reason for the departure. Janes, 39, led Barclays’s mergers and acquisitions business in the country since joining the London-based bank in November 2009, she said.
The departure follows the appointment of Jeff Deck as Barclays’s Australia and New Zealand chief executive officer last week, replacing Cynthia Whelan. The bank this year has slipped to 13th in the ranking of advisers on Australian mergers and acquisitions from No. 6 a year earlier, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
