Aug. 23 (Bloomberg) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up among diners at a restaurant in Aleppo, Syria’s commercial hub, killing eight people, state-run SANA news agency said.
At least 20 others were wounded in the explosion, the Coventry, U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights group said in an e-mailed statement.
Syria is in the grips of an insurgency against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that has killed over 100,000 people, according to United Nations estimates.
