Trina to Supply 345 Megawatts of Panels for Nevada Power Project

Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Trina Solar Ltd., the third-largest solar-panel manufacturer, will supply a 345-megawatt power project in Nevada owned by Sempra Energy.

Modules for the Copper Mountain Solar 3 farm in Boulder City, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Las Vegas, will begin shipping in the fourth quarter, Changzhou, China-based Trina said in a statement today. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Amec Plc is expected to finish building the power plant in the first quarter of 2015, according to the statement. The project will supply electricity for customers of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power and the city of Burbank, California.

Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. and Suntech Power Holdings Co. are the two largest solar panel makers.
