IOC Nominate Craig Reedie to Lead World Anti-Doping Agency

The International Olympic Committee has nominated Craig Reedie to succeed former Australian finance minister John Fahey as president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, it said today.

Britain’s Reedie, an IOC vice president, was picked over former Olympic hurdling champion Edwin Moses of the U.S. and France’s Patrick Schamasch, a former medical director of the IOC.

Reedie will be put up for formal election at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Johannesburg in November, when Fahey is set retire from the post he’s held for six years.
