Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Tottenham Hotspur reached an agreement to sign Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, the Premier League soccer club said on its website.
Tottenham didn’t disclose financial terms of the deal. The British Broadcasting Corp. reported it was worth a club-record 26 million pounds ($40 million) with the 28-year-old signing a four-year contract.
Soldado scored 80 goals in 146 games after joining Valencia from Getafe in 2010. He ranked fifth in La Liga last season with 24 goals. He also has six goals in 11 games for the Spanish national team.
