July 25 (Bloomberg) -- Prudential Financial Inc., the No. 2 U.S. life insurer, named Yves Trinquet a managing director and head of quantitative research at the fixed-income unit, which oversees about $400 billion
He’ll also serve as co-head of risk management with Martin Lawlor, and replace Lawlor when he retires in 2014, Newark, New Jersey-based Prudential said today in a statement.
“His experience and knowledge of our business serves to strengthen our quantitative-research and risk-management investment process as we serve our clients around the world,” James Sullivan, head of Prudential Fixed Income, said in the statement.
Prudential, which manages more than $1 trillion, has been adding staff to oversee real estate, stocks and bonds. The company hired Eryck Su as chief investment officer for Asia-Pacific real estate last month. Roy Henriksson was named CIO of Prudential’s Quantitative Management Associates asset manager last year.
Trinquet willl track and analyze portfolios, and will oversee the development of models for yield curves, as well as credit and risk, Prudential said in the statement. He was a senior portfolio manager at Prudential before leaving the firm to work as a consultant and spend time with family.
