‘Lone Ranger’ Collects $9.86 Million in July 4 U.S. Sales

July 5 (Bloomberg) -- Walt Disney Co.’s “The Lone Ranger” took in $9.86 million in July 4 sales in U.S. and Canadian theaters, bringing its two-day total to $19.5 million, Hollywood.com reported.

The $225 million film featuring Johnny Depp was trailing Universal Pictures’ “Despicable Me 2,” which collected $34.3 million in its opening day, according to data from Hollywood.com.
