June 12 (Bloomberg) -- The pound extended an advance against the euro after a report showed U.K. jobless claims fell more than economists forecast in May.
The pound gained 0.4 percent to 84.76 pence as of 9:34 a.m. London time, after touching 84.70 pence, the strongest since May 21. Sterling was 0.2 percent stronger at $1.5673.
