May 22 (Bloomberg) -- Stephen Poloz has scheduled his first speech as Bank of Canada Governor on June 19, less than three weeks after starting the job.
Poloz will also hold a press conference after his remarks in Oakville, Ontario, according to a notice posted today on the Ottawa-based central bank’s website. No topic for the speech was listed.
Poloz was named the new governor on May 2 to replace Mark Carney, who is leaving to take over the Bank of England. Poloz, 57, was chief executive officer of Export Development Canada, a government trade financing agency.
