May 10 (Bloomberg) -- C.J. Beshke, UBS AG’s head of Asia-Pacific equities, will retire after 24 years with the largest Swiss bank, according to an internal memo distributed yesterday.
The Zurich-based bank has named Shane Gunther and Taichi Takahashi as co-heads of the business, Chi-Won Yoon, Asia-Pacific chief executive officer, and Mike Stewart, head of global equities, said in the document obtained by Bloomberg News. Both are based in Hong Kong.
Mark Panday, a Hong Kong-based spokesman for the bank, confirmed the content of the memo.
Beshke, who joined O’Connor & Associates in Chicago as a trading assistant in 1989, has been based in Hong Kong since 1996. He held positions including head of equity trading in the region before the latest job.
Gunther was head of cash sales for the Asia-Pacific region. He led the research teams in Thailand and Japan, and headed Japan equity sales after joining the bank in 1999.
Takahashi was most recently co-head of equities trading in the region. He also led the bank’s Japan trading team and was a co-head and head of Japan equities after joining the bank in 1994.
