May 5 (Bloomberg) -- Germany’s Schalke may try to sign Chelsea’s interim soccer manager Rafael Benitez, the Sunday Times reported.
Benitez, who has guided the Blues to the Europa League final, is due to leave the team at the end of the season. Ruhr-based Schalke is looking for a “big name” manager to challenge Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, the Times added.
Bayern has already clinched this year’s Bundesliga title and will meet second-placed Dortmund in Europe’s Champions League final on May 25. Schalke is fourth, behind Bayer Leverkusen.
