April 19 (Bloomberg) -- Caterpillar Inc., the biggest maker of construction and mining equipment, said global retail machine sales fell 11 percent in the three months through March.
Asia Pacific sales declined 24 percent from the same period a year earlier, the Peoria, Illinois-based company said today in a filing. Sales were down 12 percent in Latin America and were 8 percent lower in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Sales were 11 percent lower in North America.
Caterpillar last month said global retail machine sales fell 13 percent in the three months through February.
The company is scheduled to report first-quarter earnings on April 22 before the start of trading.
