April 16 (Bloomberg) -- ED&F Man Capital Markets Ltd. took delivery of 5,353 white sugar contracts as part of transactions to settle the expiration of the May futures contract on NYSE Liffe in London, the exchange said on its website today.
That equates to 267,650 metric tons and is bigger than the 115,900 tons delivered against the March futures, according to NYSE Liffe data. The white sugar delivery for the December contract was 424,800 tons, the biggest in five years.
JP Morgan Securities Plc delivered 2,520 contracts, Louis Dreyfus Commodities Suisse SA 1,101 lots and Sucden Financial Ltd. 1,023 contracts, the data showed. ADM Investor Services International Ltd. delivered a further 605 futures while Citigroup Global Markets Ltd. 104 contracts.
The sugar delivered was from Thailand, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, exchange data showed.
