April 7 (Bloomberg) -- Kenya’s Peter Some was a surprise winner of today’s Paris marathon, finishing ahead of Ethiopia’s Tadese Tola and Kenya’s Eric Ndiema, Agence France-Presse reported.

Some finished in 2 hours, 5 minutes 38 seconds. Tola, winner of the race in 2010, outsprinted Ndiema to come second, almost a minute behind the winner, AFP added.

Boru Tadese of Ethiopia won the women’s race in a course-record 2:21:06, ahead of compatriot Merima Mohammed and Kenya’s Eunice Kirwa.
