March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Baylor University, Notre Dame, Connecticut and Stanford were named the No. 1 seeds in the women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament.
Baylor, which won the NCAA tournament for a second time in 2012, topped the rankings for the final 11 weeks of the regular season. The only loss in 33 games this season for the Lady Bears was against Stanford University in November.
First- and second-round games will be played March 23-26 in Oklahoma City; Spokane, Washington; Norfolk, Virginia; and Bridgeport, Connecticut. The title game is scheduled for April 9 in New Orleans.
