March 11 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew talked in the past week with officials from industrial and developing economies including Indian Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram and U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne.
Lew also spoke by phone with counterparts including Canada’s Jim Flaherty, France’s Pierre Moscovici, Germany’s Wolfgang Schaeuble, Japan’s Taro Aso, Russia’s Anton Siluanov and Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore, the Treasury Department said today in an e-mail. His calls also included European Central Bank President Mario Draghi and Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, according to the Treasury.
Lew was sworn in as Treasury chief on Feb. 28, succeeding Timothy F. Geithner.
