March 4 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. may be fined by European Union regulators as soon as March 6 for violating a settlement to give users a choice of web browsers, MLex reported today without saying where it got the information.
Antoine Colombani, a spokesman for the European Commission, declined to comment on the report. EU Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia will hold a press conference on Wednesday on an unspecified matter, he said.
Robin Koch, a spokesman for Microsoft, declined to comment.
