Feb. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Anas Urbaningrum, chairman of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s Democrat Party was named a suspect in a graft case by Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency, a lawyer representing him said.
Urbaningrum is a suspect in a case related to a sports center in Bogor, West Java, Firman Wijaya, his lawyer, said by telephone today, confirming a report yesterday by state news agency Antara. Urbaningrum has denied any wrongdoing, Wijaya said.
Johan Budi, the graft agency’s spokesman, couldn’t be reached on his mobile phone after repeated calls and didn’t reply to a text message seeking confirmation.
