Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Thailand’s criminal court sentenced Somyot Pruksakasemsuk to 10 years in jail for insulting the royal family, according to a ruling read out in court today.

Prosecutors accused Somyot, a magazine editor, of publishing articles in March 2010 that defamed Thailand’s king and royal family.

Somyot was detained April 2011.
