Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt may get a $500 million factory to produce white sugar from beets in the country, the state-run Middle East News Agency reported, citing Industry Minister Hatem Saleh.
The factory would have a production capacity of 400,000 metric tons, according to the Cairo-based agency, also known as Mena. The company planning the factory was only identified in the report as being from the United Arab Emirates.
