Jan. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Jan. 11 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 391.3 billion yen ($4.4 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 155.3 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 55.8 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 180.1 billion yen.
Foreign investors bought 139 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 233.8 billion yen in stocks, and bought 2806.9 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 3179.7 billion yen.
