Jan. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Shane Vereen scored three touchdowns as the New England Patriots defeated the Houston Texans 38-28 to complete the lineup for the third round of the National Football League playoffs.
The Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens in the American Football Conference championship game on Jan. 20, while the San Francisco 49ers will visit the Atlanta Falcons the same day to compete for the National Football Conference title.
The winners will advance to the Super Bowl, which is scheduled for Feb. 3 in New Orleans.
Matt Bryant kicked a 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds to play today as the Falcons defeated the Seahawks 30-28. Seattle, which trailed 20-0 during the third quarter at the Georgia Dome, went ahead for the first time with 31 seconds remaining as Marshawn Lynch scored on a 2-yard play to make it 28-27.
Yesterday, the Ravens defeated the top-seeded Broncos 38-35 in Denver and the 49ers won 45-31 to eliminate the Green Bay Packers.
