Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Kazakhstan’s gold production advanced 8.6 percent to 40,000 kilograms (40 metric tons) in 2012 from a year earlier, Interfax reported.
Silver output jumped 48 percent to 963,137 kilograms in the period, Interfax said, citing the state statistics agency data.
Zinc output was 319,847 tons last year, at the same level as in 2011, Interfax said. Steel production dropped almost 22 percent last year to 3.77 million tons from a year earlier, Interfax said.
