Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Trey Burke scored 18 points to lead the undefeated and second-ranked University of Michigan to a 62-47 win against the University of Nebraska in men’s college basketball.
Third-ranked Louisville (14-1, 2-0 Big East) topped Seton Hall 73-58 last night.
At Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Wolverines won their 16th straight game overall and third in Big Ten conference play this season. The last Michigan team to start 16-0 was in 1985-86, when it won the Big Ten title.
The Cornhuskers fell to 9-7 overall and are winless in three Big Ten contests.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Glenn Robinson III added 14 and Nik Stauskas contributed 13 for the Wolverines.
Ray Gallegos scored 19 points for the Cornhuskers and Dylan Talley added 12 points.
At the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Gorgui Dieng had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Cardinals, while Montrezl Harrell added 14 points.
Brandon Mobley led the Pirates (12-4, 1-2 Big East) with 18 points and Eugene Teague had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
