Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) -- European Union carbon allowances for December fell as much as 1.6 percent to a five-week low of 6.11 euros ($8) a metric ton.
The contract was up 0.5 percent at 6.24 euros on the ICE Futures Europe exchange as of 7:44 a.m. in London. It has dropped 6.5 percent this year.
