Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net sellers of foreign bonds during the week ended Jan. 4 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors sold 398.2 billion yen ($4.5 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, bought 6.8 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 21.2 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net sale of 370.2 billion yen.
Foreign investors sold 1.8 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 178.9 billion yen in stocks, and bought 458.1 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 635.2 billion yen.
