South Africa Richards Bay Coal Declines to Lowest in Three Weeks

Jan. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Coal export prices at South Africa’s Richards Bay, the continent’s biggest terminal for shipping the fuel, declined to their lowest level in three weeks.

Coal for immediate delivery dropped $1.15, or 1.3 percent, in the week to Jan. 4 to $88.94 a metric ton, the lowest price since Dec. 14, according to IHS McCloskey data on Bloomberg.

The fuel is quoted on a free-on-board basis, which excludes delivery costs.
