Dec. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Rita Levi Montalcini, a winner of the Nobel Prize for Medicine and an Italian Senator for Life, died today in Rome at the age of 103.

Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno announced her passing in an e-mailed statement.
