Dec. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Madonna’s 2012 tour was the top-grossing act of the year worldwide with revenue of $296.1 million, according to industry tracker Pollstar.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band came in second place with revenue of $210.2 million, Fresno, California-based Pollstar said today in an e-mailed statement.
The top 50 worldwide tours generated revenue of $3 billion, a decline of about 2 percent from $3.07 billion a year earlier, Pollstar said. The number of tickets sold for the top 50 tours declined to 34.9 million from 35.5 million, Pollstar said.
