Dec. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Dec. 21 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 428.2 billion yen ($5.0 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 231.7 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 100.1 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 96.5 billion yen.
Foreign investors sold 850.9 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 764.9 billion yen in stocks, and sold 402.4 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net sale 488.3 billion yen.
