Hitachi to Supply 40 Wind Turbines to Chubu Electric Unit

Hitachi Ltd., a Japanese electronics and industrial machinery maker, will supply 40 turbines, each with 2 megawatts of capacity, to a wind farm in western Japan run by a unit of Chubu Electric Power Co.

Hitachi received the order from Aoyama-Kogen Wind Farm Co., which operates the 15 megawatt facility in Mie prefecture, Hitachi said in a statement today. No financial terms were disclosed.

Of the 40 windmills, 18 will have started operation by March 2016 and the rest by March 2017, according to the statement.
