Dec. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Syracuse University dropped six spots today to No. 9 in the weekly Associated Press men’s college basketball poll as the top two teams were unchanged.

Duke University (11-0) retained the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive week, receiving all but two of the 65 first-place votes from a national panel of media members. The University of Michigan (12-0) received the other two first-place votes and is second for the second straight week.

Syracuse (10-1) dropped from No. 3 after losing 83-79 to Temple University on Dec. 22.

Arizona (11-0) is ranked third, while Cincinnati (12-0) is eighth. Wyoming (12-0), the only other undefeated team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s top division, is unranked.

Kansas State (9-2) moved into the poll at No. 25 after beating No. 14 Florida 67-61 on Dec. 22. The other newcomer this week is Pittsburgh (12-1), at No. 24.

North Carolina (9-3) and New Mexico (12-1) dropped from the top 25.
