Georgian Lawmakers Pass 2013 Budget With Lowered Deficit of 2.8%

Georgian lawmakers unanimously approved the 2013 budget, which envisages the deficit narrowing to 2.8 percent of gross domestic product compared with a planned 3.5 percent this year.

Economic growth is forecast at about 6 percent next year, compared with an estimated 7 percent in 2012, David Onoprishvili, head of the finance and budget committee, said today by phone from the city of Kutaisi.
