Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Dec. 14 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 918 billion yen ($10.9 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 104.3 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 25.5 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 839.3 billion yen.
Foreign investors bought 157.6 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 389.6 billion yen in stocks, and sold 878.5 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net sale 331.3 billion yen.
