Henri Jayer Burgundies to Feature at Sotheby’s London

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Sotheby’s holds a London wine auction this week featuring Henri Jayer Burgundies from Vosne Romanee and Echezeaux, while Christie’s International has a sale with historic Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Hermitage La Chapelle.

Leading lots in the Sotheby’s sale on Dec. 12 include 11 bottles of Henri Jayer Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux 1988 with a top estimate of 40,000 pounds ($64,000) and six bottles from the same producer’s 1990 vintage, priced to fetch as much as 34,000 pounds, according to its online catalog.

Christie’s holds an auction the following day in London at which wines include a case each of Mouton 1945 Bordeaux and Hermitage La Chapelle 1961 Rhone, both estimated to fetch as much as 130,000 pounds, and 12 bottles of Chateau Cheval Blanc 1947 with an upper price tag of 125,000 pounds, according to its online catalog. It is also selling vintage cognacs from as far back as 1788, 1805 and 1811.

Christie’s also has a New York sale on Dec. 15.
