Dec. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Greece sold 750,000 European Union carbon permits at 5.78 euros ($7.56) a metric ton in an auction, according to the Athens exchange.
Bids totaled 2.1 million tons, or 2.8 times the amount on offer, Alexandra Grispou, a spokeswoman for the exchange, said in an e-mailed statement. The nation will not hold any further carbon permit sales this year, Grispou said.
