Nov. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Sotheby’s holds a wine sale in New York this week featuring Krug Champagne as well as Chateau Mouton-Rothschild Bordeaux from the years immediately after World War II and Romanee-Conti Burgundy from the 1990s.
A case of 1945 Mouton, bought at a Sotheby’s New York auction in 1999, carries an upper estimate of $170,000. Six magnums of the 1947 vintage are priced at as much as $60,000.
Six bottles of Romanee-Conti 1996 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti are estimated at as much as $65,000 while a half-case of the 1995 is priced slightly lower at as much as $60,000, according to the Sotheby’s online catalog.
The Champagne billed in the sale is led by a case each of Krug Clos du Mesnil 1990 and 1996, both with upper estimates of $30,000. Six magnums of the 1998 are priced at as much as $20,000.
