Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Ukraine will buy 32.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia this year, which is exactly the amount envisaged by the bilateral gas delivery and transit contract, Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper reported, citing an unidentified official at the Energy and Coal Ministry.
Two companies are purchasing the fuel this year, state managed NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy and Dmitry Firtash’s Ostchem, according to Kommersant. Ostchem imported 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas out of a total 24 billion cubic meters imported in the first nine months of the year, according to the newspaper.
