Princeton Hands Harvard First Loss of Season on Late Touchdown

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Quinn Epperly connected with Roman Wilson with 13 seconds left as Princeton University won 39-34 to hand Harvard University its first loss of the college football season and break the Crimson’s 14-game win streak.

Princeton took over sole possession of the top spot in the Ivy League Conference with a 3-0 record. Harvard fell to 2-1 in the eight-team conference. In other Ivy League games yesterday, it was Yale 27, Pennsylvania 13; Brown 21, Cornell 14; and Dartmouth 21, Columbia 16.

Epperly, who completed four of seven passing attempts for 50 yards after taking over for starting quarterback Connor Michelsen, ran for a touchdown in the third quarter and passed for one of the Tigers’ two successful two-point conversions.

Michelsen completed 20 of 33 passing attempts for 237 yards for the Tigers who improved to 4-2 before their home fans in Princeton, New Jersey. He found Dre Nelson, Matt Costello and Seth DeValve for touchdowns in a 29-point fourth quarter.

Harvard’s quarterback Colton Chapple went 31 for 45 for 448 yards passing, five touchdowns and one interception. He gave the Crimson (5-1) a 20-0 half-time advantage on a 52-yard touchdown to Ricky Zorn and passes of 16 and 21 yards to Kyle Juszczyk.

Juszczyk had 15 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns, including an eight-yard scoring pass from Chapple in the third quarter.
